I must admit, it's quite a different driving experience. The Ghia is very low and rides softer than the oval Beetle.
It's the first time that I drove a lefty, and surprisingly not difficult, just some getting used to.

well it starts with getting in on the passsenger side... winding the window down instead of changing gear... looking out the window to check the rear view... coming to a traffic circle and starts to feel all wrong, cars coming from the wrong side, the urge to merge from the wrong side... driving on deserted roads and only realising you have wandered over to the wrong side when another car appears...
Come on, we've all been there... I hope.

In every concievable aspect, I would't trade my Lefty for a Righty.

ESPECIALLY in a Beetle.

in my defence... the turning circle thing is only applicable in lhd countries.... and only for the first half hour or so.

Had to rewire the indicator selector and clean up all the contact points and earth connections. Here is a pic of the rear lights working at last.

The clutch packed up on the way to Cars in the park, and the brakes are leaking, so it boils down to a lot of more hours in the garage with my back on the cold floor and the Ghia on top of me :?

Well, brakes are rebuilt
After talking to Werner Alker about my 1200 engine mounted to a 1600 sfas gearbox with short axles he sugested to change the fork with a modification like this:

I am hoping that this is the answer to the slipping clutch. Well tomorrow night the engine is coming out AGAIN and then we will know...........

Well, now at least the clutch is working.:D
Both axles are pissing out oil where it mounts to the gearbox :x

One good thing is I picked up the 383 dizzy rotor that Chris posted for me from PE. It fits like a glove. I can't wait to get it running.
Thanks Chris I owe you bigtime
