Thank you for the Febi part number Sean

I have just spoken to our buyers and yes they are available from Febi , they are willing to order some for me but it would be a special order as Goldwagen will not keep them as a stock item (due to demand) they only land a Febi container every three months so they should only be here by March 2017

if anybody needs NOW is the time to let me know so I can order.

These will also be good to order.
Split centre pin, bay centre pin and axle boots. All of these are brilliant quality.

If you want best quality tie-rod ends, go to a Mercedes Benz agent and buy the complete tie rod for a W123 Mercedes. This is the same as a bay windows.

Sean how long ago was this, I need to source a set, my local spares guys here in East London cant or don't want to help.

If anyone is looking for top quality tie-rod ends for a baywindow, just phone a Mercedes agent and order the tie rod complete for a W123 230e. It is the same as a bay window.
@Splitfan, the baywindow cv joint boot would also be a good idea. The part quip shit lasts less than 1 year, I never had an issue again since fitting the Febi one. Its part number is 08303. I would be interested in a few of those.

Caravelle I asked the same question , they cannot say it all depends on the exchange rate and shipping costs but was told they would probably sell for around R320-00 including VAT

Does anyone know what Sidem manufactured ball joints are like,

I used the Sidem tie-rod ends on a bus lately, the quality of the rubber seal certainly seems a lot better than part quip. I have a ball joint as well that I have checked out, it also looks ok, but I haven't fitted or used it.
I purchased my last Febi ball joints about a year ago.

I took one Febi Bilstein balljoint apart today.
Without going into detail, I'll mention the following:
They are probably better than Partquip, but not by much. I wouldnt use them. I've filed it in the "crap" pile.

What is the issue that you deem them to be bad quality?
I haven't cut one open, but I've done the "test them on the road test over several years" and they haven't developed any issues yet. In terms of the feel on the road, they just as good as any original bus and compared to part quip ones I have once used, so far they have lasted about 8 years (about 8 x longer than PartQuip) and still no signs of play or cracked boots.

With the Bilstein balljoint specifically, it is a copy of the VW balljoint, except for the large metal load bearing disc is now made of a large piece of plastic (Teflon?) which can be deformed under pressure. So the weight of the vehicle is carried on 4 pieces of plastic, each about 10mm thick.

Hi Tony,
What was your findings on the ball joints?
Do you have any recommendations?
