Cool! There are so many new brands these days, but I thought Gary Fisher was the UBERMTB?
Pine I will dig out the Tel. for the dude who resprays bikes, he did the bike mentioned or you can phone Westdene cycles speak to Fareed I'm sure he has the # as well, the painter makes decals for the bikes as well.
Thanks, Rui. I know Westdene Cycles very well, bought my first BMX there in 1982! (Stayed in Auckland Park from '80 to '85)

Back in those days they used to be a general dealer where you could get bicycles and all and all and all. I still have a model Corgi Beach Buggy I bought from them!

Gary Fisher has the name because of a patented geometry, and of course the claim to fame of the 'first' "MtB".

I personally wouldn't have bought another Trek due to SHOCKING service - believe me, they all know me at the distributor when I walk in there now - and because I managed to bend the mainframe and break the swingarm twice on my VRX, but my Remedy frameset was a warranteed frame, and I couldn't spend 20k on an Ellsworth, sooo... ;)

Damn, I miss my Kona DH...better get me another one for Sabie before I get any older...my mate and I are feeling it already. ;)

I can do the decal for you. Just send me the dimensions and color you want it. I have a vinyl cutter at work :)

Thanks Michael, I appreciate it but it seems like I'll have the frame resprayed, everything included.

I bought a Trek 4500 in 2000. About 11 months later, I spotted a crack where the replacable rear derailleur hanger bolts on. They replaced the whole bike with a 2001 model within 3 weeks!

Thanks Trek.

It took me a year of fighting to get Trek to warranty my VRX...after 6 months previously on the first swingarm.

I caused so much crap at the HO in the States that eventually I got my pick of the range. ;)

I've cracked one road frame, one BMX - not mine, and a couple of MtBs. :)

Yes, I'm a serious hooligan and expect a LOT from rigs.

...and we're not including pillars, handlebars, hangers, discs, pedals, wheels, etc.

*lol*

Whays wrong with a peugeot rapport? Mine did 15 Argus cycle tours in its day. And has now retired to the wall of my garage. And dont forget the many weekend rides before the argus when I was ouit training.

Found one of my Kona last night, and took this one before I rode to work today.

I gave my old Diamand Back Ascent away last year.

Anyway, regarding the best bike... take a look at the new GT range

I've always found GT to be all talk...they've quietened down in the last few years.

Their i-Drive was quite something when it came out, but it's still a heavy system, and not the ultimate be-all and end-all.

That said, I haven't seen the '98 range yet.
