The hood and engin lid came back from the sandblasters today. Not bad at all, except for a few tiny dents and rust holes in the engine lid.

the rust spots on the inside of the engine lid. Nothing serious

More rust
We removed the trans-axle and front axle assembly today
The floor pan. Will probably be even worse once we remove the protective rubber coating on the underside of the pan!

The stand we built to work on the body

Nice stand, looks like it makes storage easy seeing it can go on it's side.

Stand pics as requested
BTW, I can't take credit for these stands. They were designed and built by my father from left over metal lying around
One of the stands. They are basically identical
They bolt into the holes that were originally for the bumpers
stand1.jpg
The bracket is welded off-center so that the body will balance itself whether it is upright or upside down. When on it's side it has to be restrained
stand2.jpg
Simply bolted on to the bumber bracket inside the nose

The project has been on hold for a while now, but things are getting going again. My father has since decided to use our other floor pan and body, since they are in a better condition and will save time.
The new floor panels with plates welded in on bad spots
The new body
And the idea for the final project has also changed a bit. Will be going with a original red and black color scheme, similiar to this

Nice job on the pan. Personally, I would keep it blue. I love blue cars. and red ones and yellow ones and...

Real nice work on that floorpan! I like those Porsche brakes on the rear axle as well. This is going to be a awesome car!
If I remember correctly the OG colour on the car was same as mine. Cognac. I saw it in the engine bay where the tarboard was removed.
Here's a pic of such a car:

but there is NOTHING wrong with this colour

It's a tough choice.
