Re: Decisions, decisions
I can't remember exactly, but it was a lot better than the twin carbs. I recall a specific trip from Bloem to Pretoria and back, in 2003 where the consumption was in the region of around 10 liter/100 km at 110 - 120 km/hBlitzkrieg_Beetle wrote: Pine, if you read this, what type of fuel consumption were you getting when you fitted a WBX injection on your Variant's engine?

Re: Decisions, decisions
That's quite respectable.
I'm pretty sure that fitment of a correctly mapped Gotech would drop it by a litre or two...
Who needs carburetors

Re: Decisions, decisions
My setup was anyway very rough - did not change anything, it was basically a bolt-on experiment that worked.
The only concern that I had was that the air filter (cone type, inside engine bay) was sucking air warmed by the engine, which I suppose would have raised the petrol consumption. I had some plans to rig the air filter in such a way so that it would get fresh (cold) air from the outside, but never got to it in the end.

Re: Decisions, decisions
I'll probably use some ram air piping to pick up cold air from an area that has a high concentration of it.
