Warwick, never mind the Klapmuts and SSW clan, they can forge ahead together.

What say you and I try and get our busses finished for George!

If all goes to plan, there should be a good few "patina" busses in George this Feb ......

Well that cracker blew up at new years and the dogs bolted
Now I see that the other rescued are heading to George :hangloose:

Had a few minor issues with the work zone that nearly ended up a war zone what with minimum wages strikes etc

Seems now all is back to normal and the first pears already heading overseas
Started the first apples yesterday
Yet another batch of quality birds finished and on the braai or ovens

Seems sanity will prevail and Blu will have more quality time to get him back to the former self

Lilly beetle sale almost done - so will have more money to throw at the project
Maybe I could also buy some time

Lets put a tag on for George next year

Did find some attachments to help carry the load

Not a bad plan Retovan

Sweet-pea pulling Manx pulling Blu pulling ????

Will remember that for 2014
might have to do a play on that

Think I might nominate myself as convoy conveener for 2014 for the Sleepy hollow of the Slaapstad

Have some mates along the way that would love some stop ins or overs

Enjoy the show

Just when you thought this project was never going to get done
Some progress even if it is a little
But hey all the little bits add up

Tore off a piece of the OG material and went down to see Sam the upholstery man a while ago
His advise for the rusted passenger side of the front bench was to make a template of the heights and then just toss out the springs and slap on some h-density foam :o
Got the bench back to the farm and forgot about it

Sam gave me a call yesterday to say he has found some really good material that matches the sample
Will be Grey with white piping
Needed the bases of the beetle seats that where in the Manx for the channels to fit the bucket seats that will go in
Soo stripped down the old seats and there I find my spares to repair the bench

Image

Need the frame springs
Dismantled
Image

A little bit of heat to straighten the bendy bits
Image

Nedd to just bend the one corner slightly more open
But the rest of the pieces will work a charm

Before

Matching up

Front before

Matching

other usefull bits for replacement parts

Just neeeds some heat and a bit of a flatter profile

So hopefully this weekend I can get the repairs done and get the bench to Sam for the covering soon
Maybe that will get the rest happening a little faster as there will be somewhere to sit and think about the first drive
