I accidentally left the lights on the other day, I only realized the morning we were going for a run. I asked my daughters boyfriend to put the jump leads on while I had a shower, the fool put the leads the wrong way around, fried my voltage reg & the wiring doh!

Painted the metal shield on the back:-


I didn't like the look of the new reg so I ended up fitting the one on Jackie Brown & I put the new one on that bus instead.

Made up a nice loom for the alternator today, sleeved it & bolted it all back in:-




This what happened to the old wire:-



This bit was OK but I had already cut it so replacing was my only option:-

Brown is still brown, red is now blue & green is now green/yellow:-

The wire that goes to the starter motor had been joined before but now it is one continuous wire:-


Needs a good clean down there:-

The alternator is all back in now but there is a problem, the charging light is on even with the ignition off, when the vehicle is started it goes off DOH! I think the alternator is FBAR'd

Had a good tidy up & clear-out of the garage to put Milly away over the winter:-

I am finishing with my job next Friday so I need to clean the works van empty all my stuff out of it put their stuff back in all tidy. In my new job I get a VW Passatt so it will then be a VW only household:-
