Yesterday I had 2 customers to go see. When I left the first customer,I felt that the clutch pedal was not like before, but soon forgot about it.

I went to the second customer and as I turned in by their gate, the clutch cable snapped,or so I thought.

Got underneath the Bus and saw that the cable was still fine.My luck,it was the clutch fork that broke.Drove it home all the way in 2nd and 3rd while praying for lights to turn green so that I don't have to stop.

So now the engine has to come out again and I found another fork for it this morning but it doesn't help much with the rain pouring down in PE.

At this stage of the game I'm willing to swop it for a VW Caddy.

I have to work and can't afford it standing.

Explain

I'm glad to report that we took the engine out, found that the fork wasn't the culprit but the thrust bearing that collapsed.

We got another one but the one problem we had was that the holes for the clips that hold the t/bearing to the fork were too shallow and it had to be drilled deeper.

Also found the oil leak and changed the pushrod guide tubes.Everything is back together and running again! :hangloose:

While the engine was out,I took a pic of the oil cooling tin that I sealed with duct tape.I works realy well.

Glad to see it's running again.

Did you find out why the Toyota that was in there packed up? Airlock in cooling system or something?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

Dawie, the oil rings on the number 2 piston gave up the ghost. It actually still looks very good inside appart from that.

It seems like I just had some rotten luck and the extra weight of the Bus contributed to it giving up.

Like the Darkside?

Maybe you can still fix it up to put back in the buggy.
