Got my PIAA lights, Type 4 deep sump and some other goodies yesterday. Also did the simulation on the new Professional software for my Type 4 motor

Asked it to do some optimization, and this was the result. Currently doing an optimization run that will take a few hours to complete. It will tweak various things like cam timings, induction runners etc. and will optimize for torque.

I would be very keen to see how close your simulations are to the end result.

Tony, within a few percent, there is a post here where I did some simulations and predicted the power on a few T1 motors, unbeknown to me Impi had some of those on a dyno, the power difference was only a few HP, mostly less than 5HP if I recall correctly. With the new software it will be even more accurate as all the environmentals are taken into account as well as a host of other parameters like inlets, exhaust etc.

For me, apart from anything else, it is not how closely it will predict the HP/Tq but that it allows me to optimize the combination of parts. This allows me to buy the right Cam (or have a custom cam made to the best possible spec) valves etc, etc. and also get the porting done properly as well as set correct timing for the flow requirements. I can build the correct lenght and diameter inlet and exhaust, and do this only once

Sold my Capri 1600 today, some more funding.... Also got the IRS pan picked up for the project, thanx Ruben

Started doing the engine building for the Type 4 standard motor in the Dyno software, for the 2.0L the max power and torque is within less than 5% of the published figures

Crap, building materials are expensive! Ordered all the rest of the light fittings, plugs, wire, bricks, IBR and steel to complete the rest of the carport.

Please. Anybody got a contact for reasonable priced PVC roll up sides, like for lapas and used on Trucks as side covers? Need about 30 squre meters of the stuff.

Love the way you work Sarel.
Go big or go home. Keep it up !
Braai is always a good idea close to the workspace
