Thanks guys, yes that is true, but for the amount I need I don't need a sheet which will end up in the garage slowly rusting away.

So, it's been a while since my last update but paying projects took preference.
While it's quiet I decided I need to get on with the Westy.
I built myself a spray/sandblasting booth with thick plastics curtains and went on to test the sandblaster I got. Well all I can say is rather leave it to those that have the correct equipment. Although it worked well, the pot is empty in no time and then you have to sweep it all up again sift the medium and start over. And obviously some medium gets over and under the curtains as well.So I decided I will have it done when I reach that point hopefully soon.
BUT... before that can happen I need to finish the welding up of holes and rusted parts and then finish up my rotisserie.
So welding it was.
First it was the Engine Lid Mount. Then I fitted and welded in the previously butchered Engine bay tin. Next up was the finnishing up of the Engine bay pillar. I then welded up all the holes in the bottom left corner, these were drilled to allow the tons of body filler to get a grip which will no longer be necessary. And lastly I fitted the Platform Tray, but did not weld it yet, until I am satisfied. Till next time...

Yesterday I welded in the B-Pillar bottom and closed the door sill cutouts.

So eventually my rotisserie was put into action.
I finished it ths morning and proceeded to do a test run.
Very chuffed.
It is amazing to see the Westy from another angle and it makes it possible to do some repairs I thought I might not be able to do.

That looks like an excellent rotisserie you have built. Very nice idea.

It is really quite a lot easier working like this and the amount of rubbish that came out the cracks due to turning is also amazing.
Anyway thought I would just show the mounts of the rotisserie since my rear mounts are not where one would expect them because I need to refit the wheels to move the Westy and then again remove to put back in the rotisserie. Those torque springs are so tight there is absolutely no movement.

Also I cut off the left and right belly plates an am glad I did. As you can see were the rats nests were and all the gunk that came out filled two black bags.
Is that expanding foam standard or was this added later by a PO.

Expanding foam wasn't added in the factory. Just as well you found it, as it's just as much of a rust trap as rat nests.

PO must have used it to heat insulate the bus.

DID the factory do any heat insulation in their camping bus modifications ???

Me too, so if anyone knows I would go that route again.

Mine has foamy/sponge/glass fibre type stuff above the driver section of the ply wood roof panel.

\Thank you, mine had that as well inside. Don't think that is healthy stuff.
I will probably replacing that with newer roof insulation.

So, it's time for a quick update.
I have been doing a lot of cleaning and finishing off with required welding.
Next step was to get the body and axles to be blasted. I found a reputable company in Pretoria that does this.
I took my Westy there on the Tuesday morning and installed the rotisserie onsite. Thursday afternoon I was told I can come and collect.
I went there as early as I could as I was also worried about the rain and thundershowers that were predicted the afternoon. Well by 13:30 I was done and the Westy was back in my garage.
She looks good, but the blasting showed up a few spots that will require additional fixing. It is a bit disappointing but was to be expected and I am happy I can now see where to fix.
