That’s really lame. After all of your rubbish comments about others cars, crazes etc. you couldn’t even get your own air-cooled on the road because of the most pathetic excuses and now you give up. :?

Finish your project man and get it on the road. :hangloose:

Pay day is around the corner! Which means I can get SOME parts to continue. Cannot wait to do something on it again. Saturday trip to Grandslam, here I come!

Still contemplating asking to re-swop for the manual choke carb. Bushpig, do want a rebuilt carb for that manual choke one? Serious.

Long time since last update.

Waiting on a few small bits from Calooker (hey dude, *bump*)

But when these do finally come, I will be able to start the motor (holding thumbs), and if (God forbid) i need more parts, I will wait a few more months.

Anyways, since i am using the trickle of money that is coming in, I barely get anything done.
So i am researching and planning what i need to do and i will be (dunndunnduuuuuuuuuuunn) taking out a loan to get it done.
Cannot wait anymore, have to get this car on track again and I will be wanting it to be an everyday car,
so

I am looking into a newer, bigger/stronger motor and disc brakes on the front at least.
Have to do the research first, and get input on what will need to happen to get the body to be done and painted.
Waiting on Herman on how much he wants for the shortened beam which will have the dropped spindles and disc brakes.
Also an idea on gearbox and engine (still need to chat with Dave Rowley)

So ya. That is the update. As I am going now, it will take more than 5 years to be complete. I cannot wait 5 years as i want to get rid of my current car and look into rather spending that payments on a house further down the line/change jobs.

So there you go.

Good to hear you going on with the project.

Why not get it running, using the motor, box, and every thing you have now, fix the brakes, and get it on the road, as an daily drive.... Than... you start with changes as and when you have time( Read Money here)this will shorten the 5 years to 5 months.

Sorry if you have the incorrect idea on the beam, the beam comes without disk brakes, will be a naked beam, as I had to buy a naked beam to replace the shortened, adjustable beam.
Will be swoping all the original parts onto the 56, and the non-original (improved parts)(comfort parts) (better safety parts) (modern parts) onto the 59.

Will however, give you a list of parts needed, to fit your own disk brakes, or you can get a set of disk brakes from Rui.

It is just the calliper mount plates, Golf hub, golf disk, beetle 56 seals, beetle small bearing, golf big bearing, and callipers.

Will PM you photo of beam.

Ya. My intention is to put discs on it. I read that how I worded it stated it had already. Not much of a writer.

Am thinking of just using my current motor too. All part of my headache.

Yes, money is what I need. Don't have any

Also. Can't get on the road. Have to get glass, and it licensed and road worthy. To do that I need to get it weighed, so I have to finish it

Oh, one other thing. Need to get the body redone. I scratched away at a crack in the rear apron to reveal putty 13mm deep. :(

Here are the photo's of the shortened/adjustable beam, next to my new (Old, reworked) beam.

Please note the tape measure, so you can see the difference between the STD beam and the Shortened/adjustable beam.

Okay. I have some good news and some bad news.

Bad news is: due to things out of my hands, I had to sell my oval.

Good news is: it was sold to Donovan (Splitz). Reason why I spoke to him first. He was the dude that found the oval and called me about it, and he was the guy that said first "if you decide to sell, let me know." He had the first option. So I messaged him, he came and had a look and decided to take it.

Like I said, I had no other choice, it was something I had to do, and even if it was in my hands, I feel it was still the right thing to do. I had no space of my own where it could sit and that I could toy with it as i wished (it is at my girlfriends fathers place remember?), and I did not have the tools or the required knowhow to do it myself.

It was a constant struggle to get anything done, and waiting on parts to come through were both lengthy and expensive.

The right car will come (I know this because ovals are popping up everywhere and are becoming a little common in the community, not the street) so I am sure I will eventually get one when the time is right. I am not going to kill myself emotionally and financially for a car. That was the situation from me.

So, I would like to congratulate Donovan on his first beetle! Give the guy support as i will.

Thanks.
