I noticed the other day that the fuel filler neck rubber is starting to perish so I stripped the neck of the tank & replaced it all, not a nice job with the engine in place:-
I've coated all the cavities in this area now with Ankor wax, I've also touched up a few marks in the engine bay & sent some stuff off to be chrome plated & polished. While I was in my garage I decided to put a few shelfs up just to be a bit more organised, then I cleaned & polished Milly & put her in her bed (the garage):-
I've also got hold of a little Beetle ready for the new arival it has working headlights, horn, a radio, 2 forward gears & 1 reverse. How cool is that, Katy doesn't look too happy that she can't fit in it though:-
I also bought a presant for Yvonne (new not second hand) cos she may need to go in the middle of the night:-
Milly Katy & I drove down to Porthcawl today to star in a film. First off I thought it was just Milly but then they asked Myself & Katy to join in as extras.
Basically its a story of an old man who used to be a swimming or surfing champion who visits one of his old haunts on a road trip with his Grandson. He's loosing his marbles a bit & a few of the surfers take the piss out of him. Milly is in the background while we unload some stuff out of her includeing surfboards. It must be my athletic physique, here are a few pics I took:-
the film will be on BBC one early in November. Its only a short film but I'll update you nearer the time.
Some pics at last sorry if they're out of order I'll try to put them in the correct sequence.
As I said we started off at J47 to see some of the Minis:-
Then we were on our way, spotted a few nice cars on the way & stopped in a couple of services for a break & to check the oil, notice Milly is slightly over reving but its not to much of a problem so we carried on our way:-
Spotted this Bay behind us, w thought he might be going with us to Dunkirque but he headed off just before Dover:-
Drove straight from the ferry to a small campsite in Dunkirque, got to the site about midnight French time, they let us pitch near to the entrance, set up the camper & went to sleep woke up in the morning to find they had a small zoo right opposite us, the kids loved seeing the goats & rabits, we all had a shower etc & wandered down to the beach a small walk through the camp site, there was a lot of fog & mist over the camp site & the beach so we deided to set off around lunch time & head off towards Begium:-
Some views of Dunkirque, at this point we wish we'd taken a map & done a bit more research before we set off, Normandy was over 4 hrs away & there wasn't much to see in Dunkirque even the beach just looked like a typical beach. I wanted to see some war memorials or monuments but it wasn't to be:-
