EFI on SA VWs were only introduced in 1971 with the 411. '69 and '70 models all had twin carbs prior to that. Several EFI Type 3's have however made it to our shores by private import.

Did some work today to get the car ready for a drive tomorrow on Nationl aircooled Day with my son on his birthday. How cool is that!

Replaced the clocks but had to sort some wiring out that I pulled out when I replaced it.Als had to buy some globes which I broke in the process and some fuses that blew. Then sorted the wiring out while I was at it,made it look neat and replaced the fuse box cover.

Next I fixed the speedo cable which also pulled out for some strange reason.

Wow Chris, you're car looks nice. These are the first pics I've seen that show the whole car. Love the wheels. Good job. Remember you owe me a spin sometime!

Yesterday I wanted to drive to the shop.Got in started it,but realised the was no brakes.

I checked the wheels and saw one wheel had some brakefluid on it.So today I went and got a new kit for the wheel cilinders, and with the help of beesbal, bled the system. The brakes are now better than ever.

I took beesbal for a spin and it's nice to be able to stop, well! :D

Thanks for the help bees.

Hi Chris, looking sweet.
I noticed that you have no rubber seal around the front bonnet & rear lid. Pro Auto rubber make a rubber which they recommend to be used on the beetle doors that works very well in sealing the lids on your ride too, they sell them by the metre, about a year ago R16 / m.
