They said R909 for the Ivory one and R700 and some thing for the black one but they only get stock on Wednesday so will be ordering the Ivory one then with a few other parts

Did you do your wiring yourself. or did you buy a wiring loom

I'm doing it my self ( I have a old loom from the first pile of scrap I bought) and the wiring in this thing is really simple so It shouldn't be to much of a problem

If the wiring harness gets stuck, try to pull it back a little, turn it a bit, and try again. Also try pushing a bit from the other side. Maybe try getting it in from the front, if it is difficult from the back.

With mine, i used the righthand side of the roof, as this route is slightly shorter for righthand drive vehicles than the left side.

(Older beetles used the simpler route through the roof, but later ones had the loom next to the heater channels).

Sorry guys but nothing will be done till next week and I have not really done any thing besides buff half the roof. Boggo is in the garage getting a gear box replacement and having a few other problems sorted. Cheers guys and happy Easter

Hey every one I just got boggo to 100km/h in town with my mom in the car My ''reason" was that I was testing the new brakes and the new gearbox. Any way most of her problems are sorted besides a few wiring problems.

Back to scrappy. I got the mud flaps back from sand blasting yesterday but they don't look so good. Well the rear ones are held together with pop rivets and the front are just dented. Iv sprayed them just to stop the rust. I go back to school on Tuesday so the work will stop till the next holidays. I want to see if I can get the car through road worthy before Christmas but I still have a ton of work ahead of me.

Things Left to do:

Wiring ( lights + motor + alternator )
Body work on mud flaps + deck lid + Bonnet
I'm going to rebuild the motor once again and convert it to 1600 so its drivable
Install roof lining
Do Carpeting
Lift the back suspension by 1 spine
Bleed the brakes
Put in all the windows
Install and test run the motor
Rebuild the bumpers with all the parts I have
And other odds and ends

Im 32 and still drop most cars!!!!

Ya what happed was I dropped it by 3 and because of the disk brakes and the adapter plates the wheels will touch the mudguards when you go over a hump. This beetle is going to have a very different stance. The wheels are going to be as far out as possible so it has that beastly look

When i get back to SA i will post a pic, Wheels sticking out doesn't look that good. just inside the Fenders so they wont touch at maximum travel is what works + looks the best. If they touch the fenders it can rub off paint or tear rubber.Not my cup of tea....

well Unfortunately there is not much I can do about it In less I remove the discs and narrow the front beam plus add adjusters. At the moment I just need it to get on the road then I will start performance building the motor and get a 1600 box in but I'm still not to sure what I will do about the back wheels been lined up with the edge of the mudguards. I might just make a swap with my 1975 as it has mags so I wont need adapters for both cars then.

Maybe, cause thats what i had to do, get a narrow front beam. My front ride height was rather high, Can put 3 or 4 fingers between the tire and fender and i still rubbed when going over speed bumps. SO unless you put in a lower bump stop to limit your travel, you probably will still touch. Rear wheels i cant really comment on, My tires sit just inside the fender, at full travel they just miss.
