Just want to say THANKS to the guys like @Fig, @kev's and others for actually taking the time to POST and OFFER their travelling services on the forum for other aircooled enthusiasts.. you guys ROCK. :hangloose:

Is there anyway we can ESCALATE this thread tho, because for those of you who know and are aware of it, our useless f#Ck Government and it's Postal Services Strikes, and the f#Ck useless Unions are slowly BUT SURELY crippling this Country! it's impossible to send anything around the Country without paying through your "you know what" for it.. The Couriers have cottoned on to this, and are now taking the absolute PISS, charging stupid numbers to take small envelopes from Cape Town to JHB! Yurre but we need a revolt or uprising soonest.

I need to send up a tarp to Centurion from Cape Town, Or Marius needs to have it collected down here. it's the size of ladies handbag, and weighs under half a Kg. Speed Services don't guarantee anything! Couriers want to charge more than what this thing's worth (R 400-00)! So what are our alternatives, except to offer each other travelling services between cities, if it's at all possible.

Anyone coming down from Centurion, or flying back to that area from Cape Town, or driving, please get in contact. :zhelp:

Cheers

Alan

Hi there Volks,

We use the following courier in CT area ( this includes Helderberg, Paarl & Cape Town) any parcel up to 10kg door to door for the princely sum of ....... R75.00 !!!
Her name is Cecile Botha and number 083 227 8384. She is ETREMELY reliable and your goods will get there by the following day - provided she is contacted by 12.00. She will do same day delivery at a slightly higher price, around R150.00 the last time I checked.

We also use "Aramex", any parcel that fits into their courrier bag, which you purchase at Pick n Pay for R99.00, and that fits into the drop-box at Pick n Pay, is guaranteed to be delivered by 10.30am the following day to the recipients door, anywhere in the country's main centers. Drop off must be made by 3pm to ensure next day delivery. Their website http://www.aramex.co.za

There is also "Transmart" for your bigger parcels - their rates are R 250.00 (or there abouts) for normal overnight delivery - door to door, country wide. Naturally there are terms for outlying areas on all of the above.

Bugger the post office - we courier at very cheap prices!!!

Just thought this would help :)

If for whatever reason you bring that box to CPT, you can drop it off at my place

Otherwise, Donovan, Ask bugger if he can bubble wrap the box and put it into my 1302 when it comes down, if there is still space in it.
I'd hate to scratch the paint trying to get it out

Ola all,

1. I need to get a book from the southern suburbs of CPT to JHB (owner would prefer not to ship it via SAPO or courier)...

2. I need to move a bug roofrack from the KZN Midlands/Pietermaritzburg area to Jo'burg...

Can anyone assist, please? :)

Thanks.

@ Merlin, why not use the "Aramex" couriers that I have mentioned above for the book - they are super reliable & it only costs R99.00 for the envelope & delivery is guaranteed by 10.30am the following day. Provided you get the package into the drop box by 3pm. We have used them extensively & it works!!! :) :)

Seriously Nic, if he doesnt want to use a courier or the post office, then he needs to arrange transport for the book.

Morning all,

I need to move an antique chair from Edenvale to Hilton (near PMB, KZN).

It has fragile components and weighs in around 100 Kg.

Are any of you able to assist, please?

Thank you.

Nic

I'm leaving Cape Town on Friday for Durban and then heading to Gauteng and then back to the Cape. I can take smallish items. 08241seven455three
