Not much progress to report.

Busy locating my fuel tank and making bolt down brackets for it, so the tank can be removed for cleaning in the future.

Also completing the air intake vents on the inside of the cab to funnel the air down into the Engine compartment.

Ordered some segmented air duct to direct air from air scoops down into the engine, just waiting to that to arrive.

Need to get the side shafts done.

OK so with all the happenings in Jefferys Bay as well as the hottest 3 days and the blowiest other 3, we have not done much on MeFusco.

So what did you do then, well we did receive the Air Lift Bellows for the rear suspension so we can lower for loading and raise for driving.

Did make and fit the rear Fender steps, and they look Oh so smart....

Also mounted the fuel tank behind the cab as the old trucks did in my young days ...

Started with the cab steps, had them all bent, and started trimming them to match the profile of the fender,

Had the passenger side looking like sliced bread, when I noticed that the fender had moved when we did the beetle lift test. Oh !!

Removed the step, replaced the fender in its right-full place and you have already quest, yes the step has been cut to hell and back and can not be used,

So on the shopping list is more sheet steel to remake the step again, and this time to look if all is in-place before cutting....

Nice and neat, those wedge box sections in front of the mudguards will make nice tool boxes for your recovery tools and vests or have you got a use already.

Thanks Terry, not sure if I will use them for that, they there more for "Cattle Guards " to stop the fender from taking the brunt.

BUT ... I have the mystery safe that came out of the white bay when i bought her, that I will be fitting to the MeFusco.

Not sure where I will mount it as yet...

As its Sunday night again, I think you guys are wanting a progress report.

Well here goes...

After the fender mishap last week, I managed to get some steel and once again got ready to try building the front steps.

With a bit of cutting grinding and a lot of swearing I did manage to build both front cab steps.

The hardest part was to have it contoured to fit the fenders.

With this done, I had to make the trim parts to blend the fender into the body sides,

This was a bit of a challenge I tell you going from round to square without forming machines.

Finally managed to get it to flow from body side to cab fender and blend the two parts to each other.

Once these where designed, cut bent and welded in place the rear fender blends where a lot easier.

Need to do the one back fender blend still and then its onto making new platforms for my Bellows.

That will be fun.

But yes its Sunday night, but No there is no progress to report on MeFusco as I have been getting the other two lady's ready for this years George "Ball"

Both the Bay and the Fastback had issues to attend to this week and final packing next week will take up my time,

Its a pity that he is not ready to go this year, but I have overheard the 1952 Beetle and him making planes for next year,

Think we have a relationship starting here.....

So you say its Sunday, there must be something going on with MeFusco.

Well you right, things are looking Up,............ and down, we gaining new heights, ..........and back again......

Yes we have fitted the platforms for the rear air suspension bellows, and fitted them in place.

Was quit a job as all had to be done crawling under the bed and cutting and welding with zero space.

But its done, now I need to find short Shock's for the back.

Maybe even light coil-overs like a big bike, or something like that.

Will ask around for the clever guys to guide me ..........

So here is the proof of the days work......

Here is my 3 legged monster, NO its only a cutting /grinding and bending stand, as even the 3 of us always work together, I seem to be the only one doing anything.







So platforms made, now to cut out the old spring basses, and fit the new bellow platforms......





And there they are all in place and ready to test with air........







Testing with air, NO... its not L.P. Gas its my mobile air tyre pumping cylinder, so I can transport air to where I need it.
