Not really such an amazing find but I'm quite chuffed with it anyway.
I recently picked up this old Coca-Cola cooler from our resident old parts pimp (Thanks Muds! ). It was missing the decals, so I had a few printed and got them a few days ago.

Now it's ready for the VW events!
We actually used at the Heritage day and it works brilliantly.

I found this Hella spot light at Piston Ring last month - the light is switched on my turning the small round mirror at the rear. It appears that the stem is not original. Can anyone identify this for me, and give me more or less an indication of how old it is? What would the purposes of a window frame mounted spot light normally be?

Looks similar to the type that was fitted to split screen ambulances, would have been mounted onto the mirror arm - nice
Would have been used by the driver or crew mate to shine on street name signs, house numbers, etc, etc

Hi B
Another pic of the other Coke cooler I have, with all the decals showing.... ie it has decals on all 4 sides.
It says "drink Coca Cola"
and underneath ... "Registered trademark" and on the small side. "Geregistrede handels merk"

Hi Volks
Just thought I would post pics of some EMPI gauges I recently picked up. They are in brilliant nic with just the chrome bezels that need to be polished up a bit and the wiring wiped clean. It consists of a 60's EMPI Tacho, Oil pressure, Oil Temp, and Ammeter in the original wood grain finish dash panels, with its RED warning light.
Also picked up some EMPI valve covers.

Well it usually pays off being at Piston Ring early on a Sunday morning, and today was no exception. First on the list was this early 911 nose badge -
100_1233.JPG
Then I saw something I at first couldn't believe my eyes - at a vendor's table in a basket, inbetween a lot of crap I found this original Made in Japan TAMCO 'Vinyl Killer' music Bus! A mere R 10 was taken out of the PPB (Pine Piggy Bank), and it was mine
Although modern-day Made in China replicas are still available, this one seems to be from the early 70's. A 9V battery is placed in the rear, and you put it on a vinyl record and turn it on. It has a little needle at the bottom, and then ride in circular motions all around the LP, playing whatever music is on it through a little speaker in the roof. Much more of a novelty item that a practical music device (it isn't called 'Vinyl Killer' for nothing ) but what the hell. Below one in action (I don't have any LPs to sacrifice myself, and the Beach Boys one in the picture sure as hell wasn't gonna be experimented on).

Split buses don't merely "set" records, they destroy them!
Congrats on the Vinyl Killer find, Pine. Bargain!

Just been told that I'm getting given 2 old Vespa's and one of them is licensed and it's even up to date and the other one is ceased but I will still have a good look at both of them.
Will post pics when I go pick them up on Wednesday
