Ya that's right, this project is really getting on my nerves. I am supposed to be showing it off with some of my art in September some time so I hope I will be finished by then. My exams started yesterday and I finish on the 10th of August so I can start work again then. In the mean time I need to find any parts which I'm missing

Sorry Iv been neglecting VW, life has been busy over the last year. I must say that driving my 75 to school every day has gotten me a bit more motivated :hangloose:

Had some time this weekend so I have finished the body work on the back lid and Iv started redoing the odd bits that I'm unhappy with so I can respray them when I spray the back lid and fenders. Right now I'm trying to get hold of a set of 70's rear fenders because the ones I have are to bent and broken to fix. Where does one get that window channel rubber that fits in the doors? I need to start finding things like that before my holidays start :hangloose: :hangloose:

Iv also decided to put my 75's drum brakes on the back and put the disks on the back of my 75 because it has mags so It wont require adapter plates so the wheels wont hang out on either of my cars.

You will find that Pro Auto Rubber will have most of the beetle rubber, just look at their web site, and check the profile.

Think Grand slam also has these rubbers, not sure if they import their own, but always find the imported rubber softer, and more usable.
Calooker also had rubber at one time, give him a PM.

I wrote an exam this morning and I needed another break so i pulled the motor out again and fixed some of the body work on the rear apron again. As I said I'm going to fix every thing that I'm unhappy with and sort out the rest of the body work, after which I can finish the other small things that need to be done on the car :hangloose: :hangloose:

Cheers
Richard

Motor is 100% and cleaned, I had put the main seal on the wrong way around and I had not put the oil rigs on the correct way... I was that far so I just checked that I had do the rest properly which I had, so I can start rebuilding it again tomorrow.

All in All mistakes where found and I have learnt my lesson of do it right the first time or else you will be dreaming about things you've not done properly until you fix it... :hangloose:
