I'm only looking at the specific ad in the offered section that was leaked to "The Others" within 4 hours of being posted on here.
So I'm looking at 21 IP addresses that viewed the ad within 4 hours of being posted. You weren't one of the 21.

Right I have all the IP's matched up to names.....
Now what do I do?
Some can be excluded straight away but others I have my doubts about....
How do you guys reckon I proceed in determining who is responsible?
Some of you know each other better than I do.
Any ideas?

Just publish the names up front and let the owners live with it.

I agree with HR, its not like people are going to be abused for their names being there as only 1 out of the 21 is problably guilty. Maybe someone can smell a rat lol. Another idea could be to first give the list to the forum guru's with like a thousand + posts and see what the general consensus there is and then if there is still no progress then publish publically

I would just like to know why someone felt they wanted to not purchase themselves but give the details to an exporter.....maybe there's a reason we don't know.....

Sometimes there could be a very good reason, I just can't think what.....

Mine isn't one of the names and I'm not going to do anything about it.....so up to the others. The person knows how we feel and maybe wants to own up rather than we create a bad feeling across 21 members and start watching our backs. I would love to know (curiosity killed the cat) but I also don't want to worry about 20 innocent people and feel I can't help them as they might have different motives to the true nature of this forum.

Why is there a witch hunt being conducted? I was under the impression we could all do as we see fit. "Guilty party"??? Did this guy break the law or something, did he rape someones daughter?? Come on guys, get out of it!!

I go to a lot of trouble to try and do my bit so I do not take kindly to "inside jobs".
We are all responsible for our own actions aren't we?
Just to make sure there is no misunderstanding about it there is the required group membership for the offered section, just so no-one can plead ignorance.
If anyone doesn't like it, or they think that I'm getting some advantage out of running the forum this way and are pissed off with it, then they are free to stay away from the forum.
There have been a couple of people that bought cars off the forum just to resell them again for export and they have been banned but I am quite certain that they are still lurking on the forum somewhere.

What makes them come back? Curiosity, greed?
There is no advantage in it for me, running the forum this way, it is actually a lot more work, but I prefer it this way because it is good for the community and not for someone's pocket who sees ACVw'S as a commodity.

I have to agree with Eben.If someone is using the forum to benefit from it by exporting cars,then they shouldn't be here.

When you join the rules are very specific,and if you agree to that,then you have to abide by it.

The whole idea of this forum is to provide a safe place for a real enthusiast to interact with other enthusiasts.We all want our cars to stay,or at least most of us.Members shouldn't abuse their privelage to be here.
