Re: My 55' Bus
Jesus, another one. Bollocks! It's his bus, he can do with it what he likes. It's my T34, I can do with it what I like!ajvw wrote:sacriledgeDude you had a piece of history.Had is the word...have you kept all the parts in jiffy bags or is it all lost?
The beauty of ACVWs is just that, the flexibility they afford the owner to do all kinds of things, or nothing. I just wish the viewing public would be as flexible.
Look at the project as a whole and if you don't like the look, then concentrate on the workmanship. If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say anything. Sacriledge [sic] is a pretty harsh observation, apart from the fact that it is spelt incorrectly.

Re: My 55' Bus
no one even asked me what my bus was like????? I might have rescued it from the point of no return. What is worse leaving it to rust or making it better (if that is possible).I've used all aircooled VW parts and aftermarket aircooled VW parts. The bus has not been hacked to make other non VW crap fit! I hate people who make comments that aren't informed!!!!! Idiots! First get all your facts before you go ranting.
Yes I have purposely kept all the parts from my bus just encase someone wants to restore one to original! What you looking for???? Attention I guess! Well you got it, so leave me alone unless you have something constructive to add.
Now I hope acting like a fool has made you feel better.
This forum I hope is not for stuff or attitudes like that!
I've now said my piece and hopefully we can carry on with what most of us love best....VW's
We are all intituled to our opinions but please learn some tact!

Re: My 55' Bus
Pay him no attention Duncan. It's not worth it.
Like you said ajvw,"outsiders beware".You have a SA Bus that you want to fit a turbo to.Just keep the bolts and nuts and OG carb incase you have to send it back to SA to real enthusiast.
If you have more that 21 things to say in a year, and you made more friends, you might have an opinion about their cars.Until then, keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

Re: My 55' Bus
whoah,
i`m a stock nazi. Sorry if it offends others but its what i like.a 55 bus is a rare beast let alone in rhd and i cringe to see modifications. There are many people who will tell me to go away but i`m in this scene to preserve the rare items and that is my goal.
At the end of the day any man/woman who has paid his/her money for a bus should be allowed to do what they feel is right. But, there are only so many 55`s and far fewer in rhd and it pains me to see a slammed, cut and narrowed bus it really does. What is wrong with stock

You said it. But there are no "buts"...... Being a stock nazi is not a problem. But tact is what is missing. A better way to bring your opinion across is first to praise the owner for going through the effort, time and money to get the bus BACK ON THE ROAD....., then add that you personally feel that keeping it stock would've been nicer for you. That way, the owner feels complemented on his efforts, and just maybe a decent conversation about how you feel can 'develope'
Now let me get back to my Barndoor 3l Chevy bus....

Re: My 55' Bus
Sorry guys for what i said its just i get so mad when someone disrespects someone that the dont know nothing about...sorry for how i put it accros but he should learn to ''lighten'' his opinion...he could have said ''nice bus, would have been cool had you kept it stock!?still got th OG parts for it?'' now isnt that better?????
