The misses son drove a 1300 golf everywhere except on the road, started to repair the golf to keep myself busy and lost interest when I got the bus. After the lost of the beetle enjin, decided to go for the golf motor as I have a complete car and most of the spares to turbo that enjin as well. With the turbo you have the same power as a 1800 normal aspirated,, and to think this bus was an 1100 with this enjin it will have 3 times the HP of the original enjin, why go for more if I just want to cruise. Might increase the cc's, but don't see the use. I want to use the bus as my daily transport,, not to be hidden away in some garage, and this setup I can go to Johannesburg with ease and enjoy the trip :D

I like the way Johanb thinks.

Those that dream of turning their old VW into a road rocket are not getting (enough) sex.

Took a few days leave to sort a few things and decided to start with the registration process of Bella.
Guest what? Gave me a list that need to be complied with to get the bus out of archive.. (Roadworthy certificate included)
I can live with the documents but one is difficult to get.. Proof of payment.
Told the person I got the bus for free,, Some thought it was a joke as these busses are not given away :D

In the end of the day I need to complete the bus with the weight and roadworthy certificate before they will capture the bus on the system to give me a request for police clearance -- can't get a police clearance before the bus is on the road,, Anybody heard this :bn: before.
After that they will register and licence the vehicle.

Don't want to spend the bucks just to get the shock that the police will be keeping the bus for other reasons.
This is South Africa 4 u

With this being SA, a nice brown envelope with buffalo's in usually does the trick.

BMW's aren't cheap, your average state official needs all the help they can get

D'you reckon Tom-o? Evidently, you spend a lot of time speculating about other peoples sex lives as well, not only size of dicks...

Maybe I'm just being touchy. My edtited response was very nice in comparison to my initial reaction. I don't understand why your posts :?: . You are building a rocket yourself, and hopefully you'll be installing disc brakes (with a booster), and you've always been supportive of "it's your car, you can do with it as you like", so the post seems out of sorts for you and therefore prompts a response.

No offence taken, make up kiss on forehead...

Just a quick update,, been going slow with Bella, had an unsheduled merge with 2 of our biggest devisions (Just grabbed all the spare time)

Still not finished cleaning the bus of the rust parts. This going to take more time than antisipated :D
I have required a few spares, back valance, Enjin back door and a Fleetline S/C (Will be used for spares) including front seats.

Hopefully I will be in full swing by January. At the moment the enjin is at least assembled. Without the head attached,

Will post pics of the progress.. promise

I decided to go for the golf motor in the bus with the radiator in the valance at the back. Will use the cranc pully to blow air on the radiator. (1400 Nissan principal)
Why dont you use an electric fan? Less problems with getting the belt to it, more efficient and quieter

Most probly I will look at this option Tony, (See the Subaru guys are doing it) depend if I can get enough air on the radiator while I'm driving, read about radiators on the belly as well, but that just can't stick with me at the moment (Radiator at the belly that is :D )
Just don't like the idea of stones so close to the radiator,, I have already antisipated that the radiators will move around the bus till I find the best cooling,, this bus need to go Namibia to the farm (We have a family farm there)

Thanks for the idea,, will start to surf, recon I need to get the flat fans they use on the V8's, and use the 2.0l Golf radiator :!: Enjin is small enough :D
