Yes it does. With the type iv you can use the standard crossmember that comes with it, shorten it on both ends and weld mountings to which you can then bolt the crossmember.... i still owe you pic blitz sorry man but i have them all archived somewhere....

+1 on what eben said. ALL aircooled engines 'should' (in my opinion) have rear support bars, especially when you plan on doing hard launches....

i knew that from the beginning. that engine is a tad bit heaver then the aircooled flat 4, supporting it is extremely important .

Sadly not....
However, if i have no other alternative, IMPI said that aluminium treadplate can be used to reconstruct it...
Looks rather cool also
However, as far as possible, i would love to have an original chassis below me....
I'm still hoping to find a good floorpan in some obscure part of SA

Mine is in two pieces, i'm going to rebuild it.If that isn't feasible, then I will have it made up in Fibreglass, then spray it black OR wrap it in suede...

well he told me that on the weekend his aplying the ferst cote of black. then i have to install the glass then do the seats and pannals then do the carpet . im hoping to finish soon but its all $$$$$$$$$$$. i whant the notch to be my everyday car.

Damn!!! Dont get me wrong, I now they done it like that in the past, but with today's technology, I wouldn't really want a gas torch near anyh of my panels.... I am not saying that he doesnt know what he is doing, I am just saying that I would thought newer equipment would be used?
So far, nice work on the panels!!!

Like a CO2 welder or something, gas welding like that streches the sheet metal and also helps rust forms on the rear or in sides of the pannels.
