Re: I have a BAYbee :D
Now that was a read to take in. Am considering Hankook tyres as in the post. Will have to look into the load ratings now.
still think I will go with a 15" profile. Will it make a major difference? As I have seen tons of busses running 15-17" wheels.

I fitted 195R14C 8ply 10 days ago
I believe Brendan Mance also fitted the same and he is over the moon about them. I hardly did any milage on my old retreads but I feel more confident now and I know I have a good set so there is nothing to worry about...
Peace of mind is almost worth the cost of the tyres.

Re: I have a BAYbee :D
Thanks Dix. Yeah the wife will consider gasburners only as an option against the stock wheels. So im looking for a set of stock wheels. Condition not too important as I will be detailing them the colour of the bus.

More than meets the eye!

Re: I have a BAYbee :D
Hi Junaid. Somehow I don't think you get 5/112 bay rims in 15". You might have to look for Merc or Bmw 15" steelies. Then again you won't be able to use std hub caps.

Re: I have a BAYbee :D
Small update. Yippee got me a set of original 14" wheels. And two different sets of locknut haha. Resprayed them white, need to get hubcaps for em now.
The generator kaked out on her, tried new bushes the brushes were good even changed the regulator. So gave up and got a brand new alternator and changed to that set up now. Scored a great price on the alti so chuffed on that. Electricals all sorted with a new fuse holder updated to a modern one. At least fuses don't keep falling out plus it's the blade type.
Bus is running smoothly which is good. Not much else to talk about. Going to get her polished first to see if I'm going to respray or run as is. Will post a pic or two when I can.

Re: I have a BAYbee :D
quick textual update: New wiring back to front, changed the fuse box to a newer blade fuses, so much neater and safer. now to modify the glovebox for the fusebox to be hidden lekker.
brand spanking new Alternator, genny out. bus charges and runs like a 100w light bulb now haha.
still looking for hubcaps for the stock wheels, bought a set of rostyles im thinking i want to use with adapters (something different than normal)
best news of all: BUS IS REGISTERED AND ON THE ROAD IN MY NAME!! reregistering was a bit of a hassle, however the correct people in the correct places help, Im the second registered Owner of the Bus now, which is super cool.
now to get my shyte together and get in into the paint shop for a complete rub down and de-rust as well as get the pop top rubbed down and a new coat of glass and paint, the fibreglass is agening and the roof rack also needs some tlc.
will post pics soon, no real cosmetic changes, mostly mechanical.

Re: I have a BAYbee :D
Under the passenger seat. Is that an early bay Westfalia Camper ? I might be wrong but by looking at the photo above, that walk-thu does'nt look "factory". If it was hacked in there by a previous owner, then it means you have lost the spare wheel well under the passenger seat.
