Check that fancy wiring!

Didi endured a baptism of fire during his week long crash course in vintage auto electrical wiring, tracing, fault finding, and wiring diagram de-cyphering.

I have also heard that he is considering going into the scrap copper business with all the excess wiring that was removed from the car------

Ha-ha good one Bill.
When I told Bill about my situaltion his reply was "you were born 20 years to late to understand the stuff my boet"
He didn't hesitate to offer his knowlidge and time to help me out. That involved late night's and early hours of the mornings after work. One hell of a nice guy and that is what makes this whole VW worth it. The people involved.
Without you guy's this car would still be in storage somewhere.

That cognac Karmen with the BRM's looks soooooo cool 8)
Only problem is that BRM's cost a fortune if you can find them!

Thanks Bugger, I got a box from Johan Stander (collected it on his farm) I don't know if it's good yet. I'll keep you posted. The engine is also rebuilt and waiting.
I spoke to the sandblasters today and they are finished on the outside. Tomorrow they will do the chassis and inside of the body. They said if they knew about all the body putty they would have charged more

Back from the sandblasters! Blasted inside and out as well as chassis top and bottom. Coated with 2.5 litres of rustcoating revealed the nightmare. On some places body putty of some 1.5 inches and even found patches of cardboard with filler covering it all up. Bad welding jobs with holes so big you can put a fist through it.
At least all of that is exposed and I can start from scratch.
Busy cleaning the parts that has to go back and still waiting for the engine that was finished about a month ago. Not sure what's going on there.....
I'll try and get some pic's to post

Here is a picture after the accident. Only a slight bump but it revealed to much bondo for my liking.
