here's a kicker, I am working on other peoples cars in order to make some extra cash to feed my own car.
It wasn't air-cooled, wasn't a VW, wasn't even German.

eish...more trouble!! Pulled the front out yesterday, only to find that the accident it must have had, seems to have bent the chassis. They've spaced up the left hand side by about 15mm to compensate for the chassis. Quite frankly......i'm not taking the body off to get a new chassis. This is one of those things that will just have to go in the way it came out.

!! At least the suspension is out and can finally go away to Dave R. Will give him a shout in the week. What do you guys reckon i'm in for cost wise if i give him my complete beam. I want adjustable with discs up front in return?

What's been spaced out
I don't have a pricelist with me, but I'd estimate around 3k with discs...

The framehead?
Where is the damage then?
I'm not sure htF you bend a chassis so that the framehead goes like that... *lol*
Can' you graft in a new framehead, or further down where the damage is?
My mate is fitting a new framehead to his chassis atm.

Have no idea really. You cant see any blatent damage with the eye. I do know that it had a front left smash. that much can be seen by the damage to the bodywork. Might be that i need to fit it with spacers, then take it in to check. If it's correct, then in time i will probably need to replace the head. If wrong, then pull out the spacers. Gonna have to play this one by ear i'm afraid. Time will have to tell

Mmmmkay.
The framehead is quite burly, so I find it wierd that you'd have that kinf damage there...I'd have thought it would push back and perhaps bend the tunnel? ...but then, I'm no expert.

All good, price list on its way from Dave (sounds like a very cool guy), including new beam if need be. I'll let you guys know what the prices look like when i get them.
