Got a bend pushrod and stuck valve
Still no battery. Started working on the engine lid, take out some minor dings and sand the rust and treat it. Will put primer when back from Pta.

It looks like the Westy is throwing it's best at you. I know it can feel frustrating, but just keep on going. Spend the time and sort it out one by one. It's worth it.
By the time youre done you will have bonded with that car!

And be in a position that you'll be able to fix anything that can go wrong with it. That alone is worth every second of pain.

Thanks for all the moral support.
Progress?
Bought new battery. Still no fun. Then went through the everyting, plug wires 1and 2 was swopped,
fix that and the motor start, but need to pump it to keep it running. Problem with carb, Cleaned it and put it back, wil see over the weekend if it will idle now.
Next willbe the exhaust.

Re: 61 Westy
check for vaccuum leaks.... spray quick start all over the rubbers and listen for a sound chance, if you have a leak, the quickstart will get sucked in and the idle speed will increase.
