Went for a mini weekend to Bristol Volksfest, Saturday was really nice & I managed to pick up a new switch for the dashboard, which I'll fit in the week:-
Image
Image

Part No for this switch is 111 955 511 B
I'll wire this to my rear interior light.

There was a few trade stands at the show & loads of cool VW's too look at, Saturday went quick but I was sorry to see Sunday as it rained heavy all day & spoiled the show completely. It was too wet to do anything, I did win the show & shine but as I was the only one in my class I couldn't loose, still it was nice to have another trophy:-
Image

I saw the Beetle from the tv program Wheeler Dealers, spoke to the owner, nice guy. I didn't have a spare £6k to buy it but it was worth every penny:-

I've sprayed a liquid grease down both the cable tubes to help prevent rust in the future & while the belly pan is down I'll ankor wax everything under there, luckily all of the rubbers & grommets etc are in good order.

Decided to finish off my heater cable replacement:-

This nylon guide sits in the end of the metal conduit, if you look closely it has a slit in it to allow you to slide it over the cabe:-
Image

This is plastic & fits over the cable conduit with the cable passing through it:-
Image

This clip holds the plastic piece onto the metal conduit:-
Image

This is the rubber that fits over the plastic part, its easyer to fit this first:-
Image

This shows it all fitting together:-
Image

This shows it all assembled:-
Image

The end of the cable then bolts to the heater box:-
Image

I've now done both sides & checked their operation, I should now have heat at the front.

Ankor waxed all under the front cab belly pan, fitted my vintage ooogahh horn, as its only a crappy gimmick item I wanted to fit it without drilling any holes so I can take it all off one day without causing any damage:-

I couldn't do anything yesterday with the rain so when it stopped & started to get dark I took a few pics with the camera on a tripod with the shutter open for varying times, some came out ok but nothing too exiting, sorry if a few look the same:-
