It looks like my '66 had a damaged motor and is now running on a 1200 engine and 1300 gearbox.

OK...so time for an update again.
Rosie is back with Jurgen & Esme

But only for a short visit

. I popped in today to see how she was but I could see that Jurgen was not happy. We had a look and unfortunately the painter has seriously let Jurgen down

. I really wish that it was going easier for Jurgen but Rosie seems to want to fight all the way.
So the touch up (rear end respray) has over lapped the clearcoat that was not removed and it has produced some very clear lines, look like scratches under the paint over the roof. Also on the rear wing, they have missed after of the clearcoat covering so some is shiny and the rest not.
So Rosie is going back again on Monday as we are refusing to accept. I am so glad that Jurgen & Esme are doing Rosie as I know that many other shops would have just said "Best that can be done" (that's how Mo was done by the other shop) and started rebuild. I do feel guilty a little as I know that Jurgen & Esme really want to get on with her and we have done most of the work we can without her being there.
On a positive note, the other headlight has been reassembled with parts from BAB & Farhaad, we have sourced all the rubbers that we need, collected a new set of chrome trim from Dave, found some new front indicators with all the rubbers as the others where gone.....
Sorry, I couldn't bring myself to take a picture so sorry. All we can do now is wait and see what happens but now the roof has to be stripped and redone as well as the back end. To be honest, I hope they sand the whole car and respray completely as then we will be sure that there's no blending in issues or slightly different shades.
Let's see what next week brings but no update coming as I'm taking the family on holiday to Durban. First time there!

Aahh Dutch, sorry to read that. It is very disappointing when you are so looking forward to making progress. Especially when it comes to the paint, which is probably the single most important (and expensive) item.
Here's hoping for better news when you get back!

Esme, you should be relaxing and please don't worry. I talked to Jurgen today, he was at the shop working on his 62.
We talked about options and I'm sure it will all come good. You are going an amazing job and I thank you for that

. Will try and come by on Saturday to get an update....

Dutch,
I feel so bad that the paint guy has let us down SOOOO badly
This has put our progres on you car far,far behind
I hope to see you on Saturday and wonder what NEW friends you might bring with - of course it may only be "Littel 'ol me" in the shop, but we can still do brekky and a ciggie - if Juergen is not there
Look good at all times

And I will try too

Farhaad, I think Jurgen might have some already so don't make a special trip.
