Hi I am one of the new guys, my name is Braam. I am not going to bore you with all the details.?12 children 7 wife?s exec? My first rebuild was a Renault Gordini R8. That basically cured me from having to modify parts. That?s what I enjoy about rebuilding a Volkswagen; If you keep it straight you can bolt it on. I have a 61 Ghia I want to complete. Impi and Chris g have already helped a lot even before I joined the forum. I can see that this site can become addictive. Thanks for the friendly welcome and all the advice up to now.
Ps I will post Photos from my project as soon as I get the hang of it.
or more megabites on wifie's 3g card.

Hi my name is David Johnson, I've been a volkwagen air cooled addict for 10 years and I don't want to ever want to quit on these smokin cars.
I have a '75 Fleetline bus - I'm told they're all 75
http://picasaweb.google.com/david.lloyd ... 1471268162
This is the second fleetline I've owned, they're just totally rock, I've been all over the country in my last one from Richards Bay to Langebaan - my previous fleetline got to 95km/h comfortably on a straight but this new baby doesn't like to go over 85 km/h with a brand new overhauled engine complete with new imported cylinder heads. I had 185 tyres on my previous car - this one has 175's - could it make such a difference.
My new fleetline's going to be a great project - she was a nursery school car for most of her life (hence the not so hippy flowers) and kept out of the rain - so no rust and clean straight body panels
This is a great forum and I've learnt a lot already after being on it a week - dig the spirit here were everyone is out to help rescue these beauties from rusting in the veld or being sold to overseas buyers.

Hi, Jaco here.
I have a KCC Salamander buggy that is based on a '69 beetle. Built it with my father and brother in 92/93 after I tried to share the same piece of road with a taxi.
The buggy is in a sad state at the moment, been sitting doing nothing for 5 years or so, so watch the Projects thread.

OK here goes
My first bus - Gwendoline also known as "St Pewbes on the hill college for Baebes" school bus - '75 fleetline - check the retrofitted skylight windows
My second bus - Priscilla queen of the road - '75 fleetline - my current restoration project - so far I've recovered the seats - got about R2000 worth of overseas parts to order and a R12000 paint job to do - body is in beautiful condition
