Re: New Project for the new year by new member :)
Motor progress (Edit) Both are NA, nod turbo or blowers employed.
The infamous (in SA) Mr Raby dyno run (Compensated to sea level):
154.1Hp (115Kw) & 165.6lbf/ft (224.5N/m) My Simulation (at sea level):
170.3Hp (127Kw) & 197lbf/ft (267Nm) Very close between the two engines. Almost the same configuration as well. My graphs is from my design efforts and is only a simulation. That was the idea from day one, virtually build the motor, and then optimise the components, Intake size and length, Cam duration & lift, Valve sizes and exhaust. I am now happy with the results and after a lot of consultations with the local engine builder, he is happy as well
I still need to build all this (uhmm he has to), inluding a scratch build exhaust (that will be me, see the picture for one idea) (Tri-Y) 4-2-1 with muffler. Fun I know, to make and make it fit underneath at the lenght of 1.5m excluding the silencer. Each primary at about 0.5m and the secondary the sme, then the collector at more than 0.5m Rgrds

Re: New Project for the new year by new member :)
Been awfully quiet in here work keeping me on the run. Also been doing a top end replacement on my Land Rover Defender after 300 000km. Started up past Sunday and all is well again. A few things to complete and tidy up, then back to this project. Not been doing nutting on it tho Web Camshaft and lifters on their way, got the crank and need to have that counterweighed and stretched to 80mm.
Got a few other bits n pieces as well like the barrels to be bored to 96mm etc.

Its OK whatever I do, my money my project. Done some more buying, Web camshaft, lifters and some valvetrain spacers, all for the Type 4. Also got some camshft gears and an extra case with crankshaft to be stroked to 80mm. The Jugs are 2 liter to be bored to 96mm for the Keith Black slugs.

Prepping the worm drive setup for the rotiserie. Enlarging the gear to weld to the pipe, kinda crucial to the rotation of the rotiserie
