Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Just joined (March 2011) to keep in-touch with my South African 1965 T34's brothers & sisters.
I'm Lee Hedges from San Diego, California USA. I've been involved with the T34 scene for the past 25 years and have owned 15 of them. I currently own a restored Ruby Red 1962 Cabriolet replica #0 001 776 (fourth oldest T34 in the world) and a Cherry Red & Black 1965 M346 (RHD Electric Sunroof) #345 012 044 (second oldest M346 in the world).
My M346 was originally exported to Cape Town, South Africa in the fall of 1965 when it's original owners finished touring Europe with it. It lived in Jeffrey's Baii for many years until being exported to England in 1999. I bought it in 2004 and imported it to Southern California to be fully restored.
I'm excited to get in contact with other T34 owners in SA! And I'm happy to help anyone looking for parts, wanting to sell, or wanting to buy a T34.

Welcome Lee!
Looks like you have some great cars and an encyclopaedia of info on T34s. Not many of them around, but there's at least one T34 owner on these forums. I'm sure your knowledge will be most welcome here!

Hi there all!
My name is Bianca, and I'm a proud new owner of a 1976 beetle. Red/Burgandy and Silver.
I have it for a couple of days now, and I love it! I just don't know much about the engine and so on, that's why I'm here!
Hope I can find all my Info here.
cheers

Please excuse all the spelling mistakes, becuase I am Afrikaans. Thankyou
Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hello All,
I am new to the forum but not new to the aircooled scene. It was a pleasure to find another aircooled site with enthusiasts and a forum. I have had aircooled VW's since I was 16. I am 48 now (old fart) Currently my car stable houses a 79 vert, 74 ghia vert, 73 ghia coupe and a 74 Porsche 914. My daily grocery getter is a 09 Corvette Z06. I hope this conveys to you I am somewhat of a car guy. My wife enjoys the scene as well. Her favorite part of my hobby is when I go to Track Day at Virginia International Raceway, she gets to go to the spa. This coming wwkend, we are going to Farmington Dragway for "Fast Times At Farminton. It is a bi-annual event that attracts quite a crowd. If you keep up with any of the VW scene in the US you have probably heard of it.I will post pics of the 79 vert resto in progress as I navigate around this site and learn how to do that. Thanks for allowing me into your family. I hope to learn from you and contribute to you
My other passion is boat building. It is my career. You can see what we do at http://www.brooksboatworks.com

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi, my name is Julian and I am from Durban. Too old and ugly to post pictures. My first car was a 1968 Beetle 1500. At present , I have a Porsche Spyder replica that needs work to get it back on the road. Bought it as an abandoned project from the last owner. I am also into BMW's, but don't hold that against me. I belong to various forums to do with the cars I play with because they are such an invaluable source of good info for strugglers like me.
Cheers.
