Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi,
I have recently discovered your site and joined today. Don't own any VW currently, but used to have a 1971 and 1976 Beetle and a 1.9 Kombi. I am planning on getting a beach buggy for a project to play with sometime this year, but need to pay my daughter's university fees first. I will be lurking around here, picking up contacts and tips.
Cheers.

Hi
My name is George. I found this site whilst surfing the net. I currently drive Polo Playa. I did own a 1976 1600l Beetle but sold it many years ago. I am a VW fan. I am thinking of purchasing a Kharman Ghai or Kombi - Splitty. So I will looking at the topics and picking up some tips.
Cheers

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi there.
I'm Charles, a.k.a. Goosebeak, live in Germiston, and I own both an Aqua buggy and a Rogue Jeep-type buggy, both with air-cooled VW engines (I removed a Nissan 1400 engine and cooling system from the Jeep and tossed them!).
I had quite a bit of trouble roadworthying the Jeep, but it's all sorted now. Suffice it to say that the authorities are really unhelpful and obstructive...
Hoping to pick up lots of advice here, and perhaps help if I can.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
hi i am ig also new to this forum, i got hold of a beach buggy while on holiday in j-bay for R5000 (not planned) over the december holidays tow it all the way back to jo-burg. i need a complete motor overall smoke like crazy and have a couple of oil leaks and play on the crank but runs use it all the time while on holiday. need a respray and redo the seats. can not wait to finish it.
do not know who to trust for a complete motor rebuild in joburg so any help or advise will be appreciated is it worth buying a second hand motor and what is a good price to pay.
thanks for a great forum.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself..
Hi,
I'm new here and I can tell you that I couldn't imagine myself be a Beetle owner one day.
My Jeep had some engine problems and I had to leave it at the garage for a few weeks.
So I decided to buy a cheap car the time the Jeep is fixed.
I was looking the adds on Gumtree and I found a Baja Beetle for a small price.
The car is running great and I can use it everyday.
But the think is I really felt in love when I took it offroad.
I couldn't imagine that a small and old car like that could go almost everywhere a 4x4 goes.
So now I use it as my off road toy and already thinking of some modifications.
I already got the virus.
I'm surprised that there's no off road section here, maybe one day.
I hope find some friends in Cape Town for some Beetle off road fun.

Hi All
Shawn here, i own a lovely 411... She is a one owner, 72 model, and full service history.
I bought the car and decided to change it into a hoodride. (see pic section).
There are some work needed on it, but will get there in time.
Many thanks for reading this and allowing me to be a part of the Vdub familia!
