a common joke with the VW and Alfa clubs is that the only time the engine doesnt leak oil is when you have run out of oil...

The exhaust is not stock. Its a 4 into 1 system

Well maintained ACVWs don't leak oil.

I think that saying started with aviators, in reference to Pratt & Whitney radial engines. When it's used for ACVW engines, it's either a non-ACVW driver being rude, or an ACVW driver coming up with an excuse for not maintaining their car properly. :P

i think he meant it as a joke because there is no oil leak

Hi guys,

Been looking for Seat belt bolt for my Herbie, it looks like a big bolt with a smaller one that bolts to the middle.

Hey Guys,

Managed to sort out the st st stuttering, replace points was the out come. How easy is it to fit the belt as Herbie did not waant the old one anymore and decided to shred it. If anyone is in my area, pop in and show me what I need to do.

That you must show us sometime.

Changing the belt is fairly easy , all you do is remove the bolt on your alternator/generator pulley, there will be a lot of shims and the pulley will split into two halves, slip the belt over the crank pulley and place it between the two halves of the alternator pulley, then place your shims over the bolt and then put the nut back on. Sometimes the belt may be too tight and you may need to remove some of the shims to relax the belt a bit. Hope this helps!

Right, will give it a try, I have my Idiots guide and some tools, how difficult can it be, I have already adjusted brakes, replaced stop light switch, and Accelerator cable, next I will be dropping the motor!
