Ja, small problem with the bus. Problem solved. Brakes like modern car now, brake booster is definitely worth it. Makes a huge difference, let no-one tell you different.

Update on the bus. Mostly regarding electronic ignition kits...
Drove the bus to Hermanus, remember she has the Razor's engine in now... with 350km on the clock and on it's second ignition kit. By the time I got to Onrus, I heard the first ominous "tweet-bang", a sound I have become very familiar with. But the bus ran fine still. So that's 500km on the engine clock.
Packed the bus and headed out for Montague for the Wacky Wine Weekend. Bus ran fine, no "tweet-bang". Got to the garage at Riviersonderend, stopped and got coffee etc, got back in and no way would she start. OK, spark or fuel. Feeling the temperature of the dizzie, I decided "forget fuel." Checked for spark, nada. Checked for loose wiring, but why would a wire fall of while the bus is parked? I knew what it was but I was avoiding it in my mind because I didn't have my trusted spare dizzie with points in, with me. I had forgotten to pack it.
But it order to get out of that parking lot, I had to face facts... so I walked down to a small spares shop and bought points and condenser and some tools to make up my depleted emergency tool box (what you don't use, you loose). Pulled out the dizzie and put the points in, returned it all back and wired it up wrong. Come off neg, Ron, not pos... What you don't use, you loose... memory in this case.
Then a mechanic came to help, and it all went pearshaped from there. He confirmed it should come off the pos, and started stipping my fuel pump, which I stopped. Then he decided to re-instal the electronic ignition kit and checked for spark. And there it was, strong, but I know that kak already, anyway, it got me further down the road. 20km further down the road and a few years back on the memory banks...
By the time the electronic ignition cut out again, completely this time, just before Bonnivale on the Stormsvlei road, I had realised my mistake. The bus cut out, I thought coil... replaced coil, no change, not unexpected, nice guy stopped, phone a mechanic for me, before the mechanic arrived I had the points in and wired correctly, off the negative. I asked the mechie to stay for moral support, which he did. I swung the motor and she fired up like a champion. Off to Montague. No problems.
Next morning (no, the woes aren't over yet) she fires up on 3 cylinders, or so it sounds. Then two... and a whole lot of wheesing and banging. HT leads? You know, cold and wet? Started replacing them, two in Montague and two more in Robertson, all the while supping muscadel. Eventually Steve (Bluebird) says, "Let's check that points gap." We did, we found it too small, so Steve adjusted it somewhat, and the bus took us to lots of wine farms without a hiccup.
On Sunday, I had to drive back to Hermanus. She ran like a champ. Not a single misfire.
So, once again, the electronic igition let go, and disguised itself by only bombing out when hot. I am currently thinking that is the next one breaks, it will be replaced by points and condenser, and I won't be changing the bus back either. Enough is enough. I have given these kits their chance.

I know your feeling Ron.... glad you got it sorted tho...
Remember I changed a set outside your house once. My 1000km on the suicyde engine has killed 3 already. I have also noticed that my kit is no longer sold by the people I bought it from...
Time to go back to 1900 dizzy I think

Yes, or any other set up with a thyristor bank outside in the cool air, methinks. As Just-Tom pointed out a few posts ago, it's hard to imagine that a piece of kit like that functions reliably for an acceptably long time being inside the dizzie, where older versions were large because of oa air cooling fins and heat sinks.
However... the one in Rumours is still hanging in there, but then, the whole dizzie is in the breeze there...

I have also given up on the cheap elec. ign. kits, and anyone that asks for one I will convince them otherwise. All my rides now run WBX dizzies again.
