Re: 1956 Kombi - ex Ambulance
Hi Dawie. Ja, Sean was keen to help me with this one, but was disgusted with the spiders and working on the gravel and dust and general Klapmuts conditions hehehe !!!!!
Restoring the interior to original status will probably be impossible - I have been collecting bits and pieces over the years, but not all is period correct.
For now we just want to do the motor, brakes, runnning gear, etc so that the bus is mobile. Budget is a huge issue for me, so it will be done in stages. The goal however is to keep it as a 1956 ambulance inside and out

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Howzit Adriaan, yes I have the correct tailgate with a window hacked in and another one given to me from bienie. There were detailed pics of everything but the whole lot have disappeared.

This pic has a UK feel to it. I know that Spar is'nt just in ZA anymore, but I this suggests that they spread their wings much earlier than I thought ?

The Spar brand is not South African; it's Dutch. That vintage pic shows Netherlands number plates, so clearly taken there. The bus looks like a 1967.jolas wrote: Fri Feb 24, 2017 11:13 am This pic has a UK feel to it.
