Hi Guys,

Spent the day with John, nice guy.

He will be getting himself used to the forum, But it will take time, as he spends a lot of time with his very sick wife.

He did say that the next posting will be in the newby thread, where he will give a brief introduction of himself.

This will be in a day or so.

Will be calling on him, from time to time, to see if he is OK.

Till then

Hello - Greetings form Cold and wet UK

I came accross your interesting site having started to research the history of VW in South Africa. I googled the name "John Lemon" and - here I am.

In the course of my spare time activity of editing the magazine for the "Karmann Ghia Owners Club (GB) " - see http://www.kgoc.org.uk/ I had come accross a contemporary picture of Salisbury rohodesia at the time of UDI and there in the foreground was a prominent T34 Karmann Ghia. This set me off down the line of "how many and when" - the more I read the more interested I became.

Main Question is - did they ever make (or assemble) KG's in Africa??

I have a freind who has a T1 Coupe which has history supporting its import from SA to Uk in the 90's.

I would be delighted to learn more..............
