Stripping, cleaning, spraying. 3 of the 4 corners are finished.
20120422_151411.jpg
Things to do still:
1. Last corner to strip, clean and spray
2. other rear brake overhaul
3. set and bleed rear brakes
4. New 8.8 bolts and lock nuts on all suspension parts
5. breather pipe + catch can for gearbox
6. paint gearbox.
7. bottom mounts for seat
8. Fuel tank (need to decide if we will keep the old one or make a new one)
9. Mount oil cooler and run piping
10. Tune Engine
11. finish rear cowling
12. make up new mountings/mounting method for the nose cone

So, last corner, every thing was going fine and then a siezed slave cylinder... Stripped, cleaned and lightly honed. just need to put it all back together.

So out of the 4 cylinders, 2 were partially siezed and one piston was broken. so of the 8 pistons 3 were stuffed. this car should have much better brakes now!

Well done.

Always good if you can BRAKE for a corner. Come in handy in V racing.

Sup Bab, yip, I have it in my birkin, so if it fits a Birkin then it should fit your car fine as well! Most of the racing guys have them, in fact almost all. They are a tight fit ass wise but are super comfortable! One of the guys i know had his padded and covered for his road car. Clive Wilmot stocks them - racekit.co.za, Garreth Taylor stocks them too - Image

Action shots are a no go, we having a few bad suspension problems currently. Need to go rip a few of the suspension leaves out, all but 4 or 5 infact. and add a dampener between the rear suspenion and body. The car has a tendency to cock a front wheel around corners and then not put it down again, oops. But the next two weekends are to be spent on my race car. so the next update may only be in a while unless my father and brothers play with the car...

I will probably bring the car to air cooled heritage day and/or Ferdi's. Question is drive it or trailer it  heritage day is only 10km away

Well since I put my car into the wall at Topgear festival and then screwed up the gearbox of the tow car on the way back it gave me some time to get busy on the Vee again. The front suspenssion was stripped and a leaf spring or two was removed. Spacers added to compensate for the removed springs. did not have too much fun, but the suspension is feeling reasonable so far, just need to finish assembly and then give it a try.
