Side marker lights - leave your indicator stalk up or down when you park your car and see what happens. It's magic I tell you :P
So they not indicators then? Or do they work like modern cars as an indicator and side marker?

Sidemarkers only, although people like to connect them up as indicators too

They will stay as sidemarkers then, I just need to replace the one lens and make sure they are working properly...

Designed to work with the original ignition switch only, I stand to be corrected, but I think that after you have parked and before removing your keys from the ignition, you turn the key anti-clockwise and activate the lamp you want switched on (and then remove the key).
These lenses tend to be very brittle now and quite hard to find in nice 2nd hand condition :(

So, some long overdue updates...

Firstly, thanks to a very generous local ex-aircooled owner I managed picked these up...

Original VDO Tachometer:

Austalian Type 3 Service Manual:

And then I visited her a few weekends ago to make sure I was happy with the ride height as we lowered her slightly. I also managed to get under her properly and despite a few area's she is remarkably clean for her age and originality...

Lowered a bit front and rear...

Image

New exhaust which isn't too bad for what I paid but not the greatest to be honest...

Image

Image

These are some of the bad spots...

Some of the new bits and pieces that went on her...

And this is the biggest news of late, she is now parked at home in a rented parking bay for the meantime...

Image

And then on to a Roadworthy, needs her hooter/horn fixed and new wipers but otherwise passed easily...

Image

Filling up with fuel was funny, the fuel attendant didn't know where the fuel flap was and when I popped the frunk asked where the engine is...

Image

I had issues with the clutch on the way home, trying to get in to any gear gradually got harder and harder. I adjusted the clutch cable this last Saturday, probably incorrectly if I am honest as I am not sure exactly how to do it but I managed to get the clutch to disengage and the car in gear. And then when I took the SO for a drive yesterday there is a horrible grinding like noise when the clutch pedal is depressed which points to a worn release/thrust/throw out bearing. So the engine will probably have to be pulled and a new one installed, along with a new clutch and clutch cable while we at it, arg...

Hey nic, haven't seen you in ages. Your car is looking awesome. You've now got the same problem as me. I also need to do the clutch on my bus. The problem is finding the time to do it. Cool car man
