The trim was removed by the guy in Durban , think he removed most of the chrome to get the "Cal" look

More like the European Standard models where.

If my memory serves me right.

No problem Dixon,

only posted as I am not sure if you have that thread, and it explains the history and gives the car a provenance with his thread, as well as my thread and you thread,

you have a nice documentation of this great Little car.

All good

Herman

No no no, no need for excuses for old grinder boy.

Retrovan, take note now.....

The next owner is having to reverse back the hideous modifications done to this car.

Please see the suffering it causes after you sell it due to it being modified.....

Thanks Herman.

Yes it nice to be able to have all this threads about Lindor, also shows why, is in your other topic this is such a great forum.

Haven't had time to read through everything yet but this part is a bit confusing about the color, so Lindor was not Brown? Image

You right, would have painted her back to that colour, had I not had the Red Fastback, did not want two same colour.

Could not decide what colour to make her so I did not.

Thanks Sean for making my point about historical threads, Cause had you read them, you would have seen that my trusty grinder did in fact not do any work on this here Beetle, but if you read both PO treads, you would have noticed that I had to do a lot of returning to original and repair to get it to the reliable car Dixon got.
but as the grinder still has life in it, will come over and do some "Improvements" to YOUR buses , no charge.

For history, here is that thread .. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=20872&hilit=1959+beetle

Sorry for taking over your thread, I hereby return it to you with apologies.

No need for apologies, thanks for putting all the old threads together, now we can do some reading on the previous life of this special Beetle and save it for the future generation.

With my laaitie being born soon and both daughters beetle fanatics,I'm sure this beetle will be in the family for many more years

How interesting is that I never would have thought all that information would still be around.
