Do I have to seal the engine off around the edges to keek the cool air in?

Yes you have to seal it off to keep as much as possible hot air from going in to the fan and in stead of cool air the air just gets Hotter and Hotter as you drive As if you are recycling the hot air comming from the Exhaust

I have seen a DC with some Big flexible hoses coming from the sides below the load body to get more cold air directed to the fan intake aerea but it is important to try and seal the top of the motor from the bottom

Ok just orders 2 sets of spunges for sealing the motor one for you and one for Beetlefanatic`s bay window should get them by Friday monday then will send you one

Dont even think of driving without the spunge. Its unbelievable how hot that engine gets if you dont have it in.

Had the manifolds done because the PO welded them up for some reason.They now fit flush and doesn't leak anymore.
