Definitely old skool! Doing a complete nut and bolt redo. One day she'll be my daily driver/racer! lol. Im thinking of going 16v but it all depends on the funds which arent looking too great at the moment. Had her for a couple of months already but the only thing ive managed to do is get her completely stripped. Its a '78 model with the original 1100 engine, quite a rare find for 7.5 grand! Virtually no rust and totally original. Im thinking of something in these lines.... what do ya think?

Great pics Nam. I read few outdoor type magazines every month and everyone that's been to Namibia comments on how good the majority of the roads are. From your pics it certainly looks that way.
A trip to Namibia in the syncro is still on my "to do" list.

Nice pictures. Must visit Namibia some time.
How difficult are the officials at the border posts? Been to Zimbabwe and Mozambique, (for work purposes) and there it could take half a day to get through the border.

Thanks for the replies, Namibia really is a beautiful country! As for the roads... i can travel just about anywhere in Nam with my 1969 bus and survive the trip, so yeah they are pretty good!

It can be pretty pricey traveling around in Nam, especially if you are a foreigner. Atleast our petrol is cheaper than in SA

Crossing the border into Nam is very quick and easy... many students travel between the Eastern Cape and Namibia everyday. If you coming from Gauteng area and travel through Botswana its a slightly different story because you need Botswana road permits etc, but its not much of a hassle and the road is in excellent condition right through. I studied in PTA and travelled through Botswana when i returned to Nam, found it fairly easy enough.
Bring the Syncro... give all these Toyota okes a run for their money in the dunes near swakopmund! You guys should definitely organise a Nam run someday, i promise you wont be sorry! Plus id finally be able to meet you guys.
Does anyone know if theres anybody else on this forum from Namibia?
BTW if you check the pic with the 3 guys sitting around the fire, im the one in the middle (the youngest of the 3 brothers)
Ill try keep the pics coming...
