so its been a while.......but the past vacation i went back down to toti to go visit my dad and ofcourse this time bring the buggy up....its been six months without him and i couldnt take it anymore...so got there and he was full of dust and stuff and in need of some attention...so i gave him a bath and pulled the motor to do the pushrods seals, but i found that my motor had EXCESSIVE crank play, around 4-to 5mm when i pull on the pulley the rotor in the distibutor acctually turns....so it was panic stations for me...what now?luckily about four years ago a friend of my dads gave me a motor he had in sandmaster, the thuing is we didnt know what was in the motor or if was even streetable...but i had no choice,so at first i just wanted to put my 85mm sleeves in its casing, because it had 88mm (acctually 89mm) sleeves that i always thought were slip ins but soon reallised that they were acctually the machine in 88mm bored out to 89mm so i went on a hunt for rings and got a set of hastings that fitted the pistons....so here are the stats on the motor

-1717cc (89mm x 69mm)
-counterwieghted crank
-balanced (maybe even lightend) flywheel
-reground cam but no idea what duration...all i know is it comes alive pretty high up in the rev range
-9:1 compression ratio
-edeges in heads dishes smoothed for better flow
-cromoly pushrods
-empi ratio rockers
-HD valve springs
-stock 34 pcit 3

only restricting rthing at the moment is the carb but im planning on putting back on the carb
that was on the motor when i got it,its a weber 38dncl 4....

Image

gave my old tinware a lick of paint and polished up some of the alu bits...

got the motor started (read:battery was flat, motor was still stiff and had to tow it with a car to start it because you couldnt push start it because of the motor's compression and the weight of the buggy the wheels just locked up when you drop the cluch) 21:00 the night before i was driving back to pta...

Image

the next morning it was ready to go,i had one bag and my giutar, all the other stuff you see in the car and buggy is the seatcovers!she thinks he is a f%&cking strailer....anyway

got here safely and not a bad trip at all..and then i started to get the buggy ready for c.i.t.p so i clean up the lights at the back...put a tint visor on the windscreen...and the gonna finish painting the roof all the tit bits....

but i got to be honest i havent even driven it up here because ive been have all my days with the stater hopefully i can get it running tonight so hold thumbs...if i dont im towing it to c.i.t.p...anyway see you guys at c.i.t.p...........
