Greetings all,

My name is Gunter Kampmann,

I was introduced to the site via Sarel Wagner, we do business together but also recently discovered that we both enjoy VW's as well,
I am currently busy restoring a life long dream of mine - a 1950's Karmann Ghia,

To date I have managed to strip out the interior, take out the engine and gearbox,
and have manually started stripping the paint off, only a quarter way through - tedious as she has 5 coats on her - all sprayed over each previous one!
add to the fact that some muppet tried to install a sunroof and then changed his mind?
so currently I am attemting to get the drive shafts out of the gearbox in order to have a rolling chassis,
in order to send he for bead blasting,

doing this in isolation has proved challenging,
I am hoping that the forum can advise and guide me through this project,
I will soon be posting pics and a progress report - work schedule allowing,
and keep everyone updated,
the plan is to build the car for my 14 month old daughter Miya, and hand it over to her when she gets her licence,
hence the registration Miya Ghia GP!

looking forward to meeting everyone and learning a ton!

Regards
Gunter
