Hi,
My name is hannes (hansman), and I am from Polokwane. I've been a Beetle enthusiast all my life. My first car was a 1961 Beetle and it was later replaced by a 1976 Beetle S.

Over the passed years I became the proud owner of a 1958 Beetle, a 1978 Beetle, a 1976 Bay Window Kombi (Brazillian Type) with the corner windows as well as a 1967 Karmann Ghia.
I drive them on a daily basis (rotating them each week).
I am currently busy restoring a split window Panel Van as well as an oval window Beetle.

I find your forum very helpful and interesting. Thanks for accepting me as a member.
I hope to exchange ideas and can make use of the member's ideas and advice.

Regards,
Hansman

Hey all im Nic and new to all this, just picked up myself a 72 standard 1600 bug, needs plenty of work due to channels in bad shape rust wise. well im located in Durban and am a student on a very limited budget. First plan is to get her running smoothly and replace the front transmission mount as mine is shot. Then work at her till shes roadworthy and can get COR.
Well other then that will keep in touch.

Regards
Nic

Hi Guys,

Bossie (a.k.a. Marius) has been away from the forum for about two years after I sold my Fleetline that was in restoration - seatcover issues. My Father-in-Law and I came across a Beach Buggy two weeks ago, got the transaction sorted, and are no BACK-IN-THE-GAME! Now it is time to get a nice Splittie again (a mobile one this time around - it'll keep the seatcover off my back!) HEHEHE. So if you know of a nice running Splittie that is up for a good home...let me know!

Cheers,
Marius.

Welcome everyone
MrCuteMonkey as long as your sense of humor has not been surgically removed there is still hope

Bossie2004 - it's true what they say, once you've owned an aircooled it NEVER leaves you. The engineering simplicity is something that is seldom seen on modern cars - that's what I like most about aircooleds. Oh, and all the hunderds of options you've got to modify them.
