Hi, my name is Jacques and I'm based in JHB.
I have plans to build a beach buggy. I'm not a traditional VW owner, but have gained respect for the VW community after watching some of the Discovery programs such a s Beetle Crisis, and it's nice to see the local scene being so active. I hope to get some some good ideas and info from the members. Thanks and regards.

Hi
My name is Adrian. I'm new to all of this. Have always been a bit of an office drone and never really tinkered with cars, but always wanted to get more involved. I figured the modern cars are all run by laptops and stuff and I wanted to go back to a car that I could get to grips with and really maintain myself. I also want something to do up. Not a complete rust-bucket with no engine, but something that needs a bit of work and I can get stuck into.
I have a budget in my head, I have an empty garage and I have weekends and evenings (along with running after my wife, son and dogs). But as yet I have no car to play with. I want to get a Beetle and go from there.
I'm from the UK, but live in Sandton now, so as well as learning all the mechanical and other skills its going to be a bit of an eye opener finding auto hardware shops that sell more specialised stuff than Builders Warehouse...but I'll get there. Hopefully some of you guys can give me some advice.
Cheers
AD

Hey all,
Just thought I would finally introduce myself, name is Rob. I am a long time reader, seldom poster. This should change now
I registered a loooong time ago in my long time search for a splittie, and finally the day has come that I am fortunate enough to find one. Fig passed the details of the Beetlefanatic onto my mom, saying that his bus is for sale, so I contacted him, and fell in love (with the bus not him luckily

)! ha ha
So I am buying the splittie from beetlefanatic, I cannot wait to get my hands on it! It has been a dream of mine forever to own one of these beauties and to eventually fit a porsche motor to it.
I am an avid VW fan too as my first car was a Beetle Buddies(i know it is taboo here

) Beetle followed by a 2002 Citi Golf Life.
Our family have always owned combis and caravelles too, so we love the Brand!!
This forum is great, and i hope to harvest much knowledge from you bunch!
Thanks again Beetlefanatic!
Regards
Robert
