Hi
The name is Jimmy and I started to revamp a 1969 baywindow with a 2.5 chev motor about 5 weeks ago.I live at the Vaal dam on the Gauteng side . Lived in Benoni most of my life and moved here about 5 years ago. I have always enjoyed VW buses and came across this one in not to bad a shape. So I bought it so that it will have a chance to live again. Have so far stripped resprayed and fitted a 2l 8v ady motor (out with the chev) and now need advice from you guy who have done such convertions.

Thanks Jimbo

Hi all my name is Broderick and im new to the forum. My first ever car was a beetle and i have loved them ever since. The motor for that beetle was built by Bruce Nielsen(think that is the correct name) who used to race and build motors for the formula V series. Sadly he was paralysed in a motor bike accident. I then had another beetle after the army which was my pride and joy, but i rolled that on the highway from pretoria to jhb due to diesel on a wet road.
I have just bought my latest baby, (wife thinks im going through mid life crisis) and she is presently at Buggertransmissions having discs brakes fitted and a general once over! Am looking forward to many many kms of PROPER driving in her, and look forward to good chats on this forum!
Cheers Broderick (Beetle Lover)

Hi all! I'm MariƩ, I'm still driving my very first car, a 1972 vw beetle. I luv my bug and get asked frequently if I would give her up for another car and the answer is always "NO" . Why I joined ? I am having some trouble with my bug lately and I just NEED someone I can trust to help me fix a few little things. so if anybody knows a RELIABLE bug mechanic in the Pretoria area I would be grateful beyond words. I don't know much about the workings of the old lady but she really needs some tlc and patience urgently. please help

Thank you
M

Hi All

My name is Baden Westenberg and I'm from PE. I have a Sports Trike that has a twin port 1600cc fitted to it. I will be lightening the flywheel and also want to fit a power pulley if I can find one. Unfortunately I've had an accident with the trike and I'm still busy repairing it. Lovely vehicle to have.

I also have a beach buggy fitted with a golf engine - goes extremely well when warm. It started off as a 1300, 1600, 2000 (type 4), 1600 Kent and now the Golf engine.

Regards

Baden

Hi my name is Alwie. I have only joined the seen in the last year with the purchase of a 61 Karmann Ghia that I plan to restore. I probably always had vw in my blood seeing my dad was born and raised in Uitenhage.

I also purchase a 71 Ghia that I use on weekends whenever the weather allows it. I have read some of the posts here and really enjoy the interactions. I will be posting some pics soon and would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

Hi guys!

Brand new on here!

Busy with my '69 1600 tp, bought a second beetle just to use the pan and engine seeing that the body is falling apart.
my body is still looking good but the engine is shot, dripping oil everywhere, think I've got some major compression problems with it.

Plan is to transfer my nice looking body over to the good pan and engine.
