Hi guys

My name is Clint Naik. I have a 74 1600 twinport that I am currently making over. I have had the car for about 5 years and thought it needed some refreshing. I intend to make the car my daily drive and am about half way there. My father and I do all the work on the car, we hoping for a near standard body and engine with a bit more personality.

I'll probably be doing more asking than anything, but feel free to ask me if you need anything.

Relevant previous cars:
(72 beetle --> Baja Bug --> Nissan 1400 Baja Bug ---> )Nissan 1400 SWB Beach Buggy

Hi there - just joined your site. Mostly cause I started restoring my dads old 1975 T2 kombi. Overalled the brakes last weekend, busy rebuilding the 1800 aircooled motor and having a blast.

Great to see the amount of info on your website - enjoyed reading through various threads.

Thanks for the welcomes !
I just uploaded a few pics to the gallery on my profile.

Also just recieved a workshop manual i ordered online for my van.... little bit intimidating flipping through it, but sure it will be better than just fiddling blindly!

Hi,
I have a 1967 Beetle, it is my 3rd Beetle. My first was the 1976 Super Bug.
I bought this Beetle in 1989 and have done a lot of work on it but it now needs a respray, preferably Zenith Blue (1967 colour), interior work and bits and pieces like runner boards, hubcaps panel beaten and chromed, new carpets, ceiling, visors etc.
I would like to find someone who will do a brilliant job of fixing it all up.
See the photo I have attached.
Thanks, Cynthia

Hi,

I am from Pretoria, just bought my first Kombi named Priscilla.
She is running but needs alot of TLC, today is the second day I have her and we already had heaps of fun spluttering around the block!
When she is fixed and running like a purring kitten, we are going on a long touring holiday around SA.

I need some help in sourcing parts and info on the bus and want to replace the engin with a much younger and faster one, apparently my hubby wants to overtake a Porsche on the hi-way!

Hopefully we will be joining you guys and girls soon on an outing over a weekend.

Cherio

Hi and welcome "Priscilla" Marlene.

Now, we need te see some pics, A S A P !!

I have a baywindow bus with a Golf 2L engine at the back - she is quick, surely no slouch, but going "fast" on the highway is, well, scary - the handling on these old busses aint made for high speed, and by high speed I mean 120 +

Bought my 62 Beetle in 1998...had a damaged roof. Imported a Wizard Roadster kit for it in '99....and there it sat.... Probably because I paid more attention to my bike. For those that ride bikes in SA, you may recall RoX Leathers. That was me.

Finally...all those years later, and all that water under the bridge, the build is just about done. See the attached pics. Now I am really grabbed by it, although I am at the bottom of the learning curve...

Glad to have found ACVW!!
