Hi, my name is PH, I'm a mechanical engineering student at tuks. I'm looking to start a new Notchback restoration project. My dad owned a '66 Fastback back in the day and I've always wanted to restore something with sentimental value. Love the forum, it's great.

Hi all

I'm new to the aircooled world, and still looking for a project car.
Got a mate in Nelspruit that might have found me a beetle, so hopefully soon I'll be starting a build thread.
He's also got a contact for a split window kombi, but that'll be his baby.

Hi All

I got bit by the bug in the 90's when I bought my first and only Beetle a '64 1200 with 6 volt electrics. Got her (Betty) for a steal at R1400-00 (I thought) despite the fact she had stood under a tree for 12 years without moving. Amazingly hooked up a battery, crimped a damaged brake line, changed oil, and drove her 20km home! It was the beginning of a fantastic relationship! Sadly the 1200 gave up a few months later, but she had been my daily driver from purchase. In this time I QBE'd as a home mechanic and had done just about anything a Beetle could need. I even tried to sell her once, but took the cheque back the next day and asked to have her back! She is still in the family, though I never did get to giving her body the makeover it needed. I still have two original motors for Betty and would love to finish the job, though my dad still enjoys an occasional dash around she is sadly mostly stored. I still have a wishlist of those I would like to own a 411 Station Wagon and Kombi are top of the list!

Well thats me
