Hi guys, (And girls)
I'm new here, but not tnew to VW's.. Owned about 6 Beetles and Baja's through the years, my last being a potent Leaf Green Street Rod here in Cape Town ohh about 10 years ago.. lol. I've joined to keep up with whats being down these days, but specifically, I'm wanting to get a Replica, a 356 Speedster more specifically. Also owned 3 Spyders in previous years, but want a Speedster, so there you have it.
Oh jaa, Cape Town based, and am monitoring gumtree etc, but, having seen some discussions on here, I thought perhaps someone here who wants to sell one would be better off "in the forum" first than out there, kind of thing.
Other hobbies have also included 1/24 Model Slotcar Racing, which I used to do avidly a few years back, and also travelled to the Worlds a few times. great hobby as well.
Cool, there you go, see you in the forum..
thanks guys
Alan

Hi,
No it was mainly with Sakkie's track in Goodwood. Cambridge have some politics unfortunately, and although I did start the 1/24 True Scale club a couple of years ago, I left the club and sport due to total lack of interest and support.
But I did manage to get to Europe 5 times and made a lot of good friends who I still keep in contact with these days.

HI I LIVE IN SCOTLAND AND RECENTLY BOUGHT A YELLOW 1976 1600L BEETLE WHICH WAS BUILT IN SOUTH AFRICA. ONCE MY WIFE FOUND OUT WHERE IT WAS BUILT SHE WANTED IT AS SHE WAS BORN THERE AND THEN LIVED IN MALAWI WHEN SHE WAS YOUNG
THE ONLY PROBLEM I'VE GOT WITH THE CAR IS BUYING PARTS! NOT THE COST BUT WORKING OUT WHAT HAS BEEN FITTED, IT SEEMS THAT THE SOUTH AFRICAN BUILT CARS HAVE A REAL MIXTURE OF PARTS.

HI guys,
Just joined the forum. Feels good to be surrounded by like-minded folks
I drive a 1969 VW Beetle (mostly on the weekends now) and she's the love of my life. She was my very first car, and I've kept her as a second car since.
Anyway, great to be here. Catch you all later!

Hi to all,
I am from Greece fan of beetle (although I do not currently own one) and while I was surfing the net about aircooled VWs I discovered your forum.
It is indeed a great site, with LOTS LOTS of things to do and read about VWs,
Congrats and keep on doing this great work for all of us.

HI all, I'm Dennis from Australia. I have a nice little 1970 Lowlight bus and am just getting connected into the various communities around the world. You guys with Kombis ought to have a look at the Kombi Club - there are lots of overseas members.
I'm on the lookout for a splitty to fix up, but I see some posts saying you don't like them being exported... Its a pity. There are not many left over here but a good strong group of enthusiasts.
Anyway, I've been to ZA a few times and have friends and business relationships there, so that's why I thought I'd join up here, never know when you might need that hard to get part...
Cheers
Dennis
