Eben, wouldn't you prefer I bring it back and give it to you.....otherwise you have the hassle of getting it from SA to the UK? In actual fact, I bought all my extras from Germany, Holland, Aus and the UK so I have just been collating.....the fuel tank is very special as it's a rare 15" size not the more common 14" one....even though they are far from common

Update for today...rear light fitted and the window winder mechanisms are in. Some additional work has been done on the interior and the switch gear and steering column has been overhauled and ready to go back on. The window clamps on the drivers window had also corroded to badly to put back so using a golf clamp we fabricated a new one which should work perfectly and never seen behind the door panels.

Pictures.... :D

Then a bit of crazy time......found that the passenger locking latch was broken and the quarter vent windows were covered in rust! I managed after 12 calls to find someone who might have a set! Drove down and one was on the counter, the other we found attached to an 56 door so that was donated for a very good cause (Thanks Muds, Clifford & Mark!!!)

14 DAYS TO GO BEFORE I NEED TO COLLECT :zhelp:

Excuse my ignorance, but what is that small 'lever?' next to the gear lever (on the right hand side of it)? No, not the handbrake

Getting there Dutch, looking good :hangloose:

Hloni, the small lever is for the NOS bottle

But seriously, early beetles do not have heater levers, just a heater "valve"

I am pretty sure someone must have used that for a NOS bottle somewhere? :hangloose:

It's not.....it's hand made, the fitter came to the car and it there.....

KK is 100% right. The knob is turned to let hot air from the engine come into the cabin or not depending on which way it's turned
